How to travel from the UK to Castello di Rosciano, Torgiano, Italy
From the UK
Departure Airports
Suggested routes from major UK airports. Journey times are approximate and depend on layovers and connections available in 2028.
LBA
Leeds Bradford Airport
Leeds Bradford (LBA) does not currently have direct routes to Italy — a connection is required
Best option: fly LBA → London Heathrow (LHR) or Manchester (MAN), then connect to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) or Perugia (PEG)
Alternatively: fly via Amsterdam (AMS), Frankfurt (FRA), or Dublin (DUB) to FCO or PEG
Check Jet2 from LBA — they run seasonal Italian routes that may cover FCO or FLR by 2028
Drive or pre-book a taxi from FCO to the venue (~1h 45m)
Estimated journey: ~6–8h
Allow extra connection time — LBA is smaller and has fewer flight options than southern airports.
MAN
Manchester Airport
Manchester (MAN) has direct flights to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) — approximately 2h 30m
Airlines to check: Ryanair, Jet2, TUI — confirm 2028 routes closer to the date
Alternatively, fly MAN → Florence (FLR) for a scenic approach to Tuscany and Umbria
From FCO: hire a car or pre-book a taxi to the venue (~1h 45m, ~160 km)
Estimated journey: ~5h
Manchester's direct FCO routes make it one of the most convenient options outside London.
LHR
London Heathrow
Heathrow (LHR) has frequent direct flights to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) — approximately 2h 30m
Airlines: British Airways and ITA Airways both operate this route multiple times daily
For the shortest drive: check flights to Perugia (PEG) via Rome or other hubs — only 15 km from the venue
From FCO: hire a car or pre-book a taxi to the venue (~1h 45m)
Estimated journey: ~4–5h
PEG (Perugia Airport) is the closest airport to the venue — worth checking Ryanair and Wizz Air routes.
LGW
London Gatwick
Gatwick (LGW) operates direct flights to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and Florence (FLR)
Ryanair and British Airways both fly LGW → FCO regularly
easyJet operates LGW → FLR routes — Florence is ~2h drive from the venue
From FCO: hire a car or pre-book a taxi to the venue (~1h 45m)
Estimated journey: ~4–5h
Gatwick is well connected — both Rome and Florence routes are reliable options.
STN
London Stansted
Stansted (STN) has budget routes to Rome Fiumicino (FCO) and sometimes Perugia (PEG)
Ryanair operates STN → FCO regularly and may run STN → PEG seasonally
If PEG is available it is the closest airport — just 15 km and ~20 min from the venue
From FCO: hire a car or pre-book a taxi to the venue (~1h 45m)
Estimated journey: ~4–5h
Check Ryanair's STN → PEG route — if available in June 2028 it would be the easiest option.
